Sleep & Rest
Did you know we heal when we sleep?
Ask yourself these questions
Are you waking up without an alarm?
Are you dreaming?
Do you take a mid-day rest for 10-20 minutes?
Stimulants interfere with sleep.
Cut back to the bare minimum. Consider a 10 minute nap instead of that afternoon cup of espresso.

Avoid Alcohol
Did you know drinking any kind of alcohol wipes out a key component of your immune defense?
Glutathione is that key component. It is the only anti-oxidant made naturally by your body and it gets wiped out each time you drink.
It takes a few days for your body to make more, to replenish your supply. Your body can't catch up if you drink alcohol everyday, or every other day, or every third day, or binge on the weekends.
That means if your body has to deal with a viral invader, while it is missing a key weapon, your immune defenses will be compromised.
Don't Smoke
That includes weed.
Everytime you smoke
you are laying down tar or resin and compromising your lung function.
Everynight your body tries to repair the damage while you sleep. That morning cough is the flem from the repair process. Lungs can heal themselves completely from smoke damage; they just can't do it in one night.
Now image if your body has to deal with a viral invader, and you are smoking; aren't you are helping to bring the viral load down into your lungs?
Switch to nicotine patches or edibles.
Oral Hygeine
Help your body at the first signs of irritation
First off, don't let your tooth brushes spoon
- Rinse your toothbrush under super hot water before and after you brush
- Keep brushes, cups and tools dry and away from the shared bathroom environment
- Scrape your tongue to remove plaque
- Floss your teeth
- Clean your tonsils of any stones
- Gargle and rinse your mouth with super steamy warm/hot water before and after you brush (heat kills viruses)
Scan your body when you wake up and at bedtime
Use heat to knock down what is brewing at the first signs of feeling a bit off
• a tickle or thickness in your throat
• sinus pressure, drainage or headache
• swollen throat glands
Start gargling with steamy warm/hot water every few hours; you can alternate with Listerine (65% alcohol)
- Drink clear hot liquids: herbal tea or soup broth
- This virus replicates in our oral cavity.
- Heat helps knock down the viral load that our body must do battle with.
Nutrients & Supplements
Cut Out Sugar
Did you know sugar is not food?
Sugar can cause
Hunger Cravings
Gut Bloating
Implusive Behavior
Sleep Interference
Cook foods from scratch and skip the sweetening step.
Eatting an orange, or two, is better than drinking a glass of OJ.
Can you figure out why?
Healthy Foods
What does balanced mean?
Food = Fuel
Our adult bodies need a really broad range of nutrients to keep our systems running optimally.
Bread based foods such as pizza, bagels, muffins are just not giving you a variety of nutrients. The same goes for milk based products: cream cheese, creamers, sauces. In the short term these foods make you feel full but deny you a full nutrient profile.
Track what you are eating.
Apps to help you see your intake
Popping Supplements
What should I have on hand?
Minerals
Zinc: take 1-2 after each meal at the first hint of illness
Copper:
Magnesium:
Micronutrients: Bcomplex
Aminoacids:

This is NOT medical advice.
My main point is that we all have free will to decide what is best for our family and I believe the more we understand about our own bodies, and how they function best; the more empowered we will be.
